We’re not just a gym—we’re a community of everyday people working toward becoming our strongest, healthiest, and happiest selves. Whether you're lifting your first barbell, training for your next comp, or just looking to move and feel better, we’re here for it—and for you. 

Our mission

To create a space where everyone feels safe, seen, and supported while becoming stronger—physically and mentally. We believe fitness should be challenging, empowering, and a little bit fun (ok, sometimes a lot of fun).

The Team

Our staff are the heartbeat of Fire. We all come from different backgrounds, with a variety of expertise, but we all share one thing: a passion for helping others move well, feel strong, and enjoy the journey.

Joe 
Mr FIre 

Founder & head coach 

The kindle that started the Fire. With over a decade of coaching experience and a bubbly energy that you’ll feel across the gym, Joe’s imagination is what brought Fire to you. He’s been dreaming about creating this since he was a teenager and is so excited to welcome you in. Joe is known in the gym for heavy lifting, his love of Disney, and his absolute motivation to help you be the best you can be.

Natalie
Mrs Fire

Director and Background boss

The engine behind the Fire. The queen of systems that keeps the gym running and the good vibes flowing. Whether it's cleaning, playlists, socials or making you feel welcome, Nat is all in. With her psychology background and years of teaching experience, she adds a flare to the gym like no other. You’ll usually find solving all your life’s problems with a chat at the desk, lifting weights with her weird bendy body or vibing to drum & bass as her warmup.

Claire 
Kempy

Fitness Coach & HYROX Machine

Known for big lifts and bigger HIITS. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself doing that extra rep just because she believed in you, and she’ll celebrate you every time. Kempy is a Hyrox Pro athlete herself, so she knows exactly what is needed to get the best out of you and keep your motivation high. Her positive energy and absolute dedication to her clients gets them the progress they desire time and time again. With her background in all things Karate, CrossFit, swimming and strength training her varied approach to exercise makes her super adaptable for her clients.  

Ethan

Fitness Coach & Combat Sports Enthusiast 

Known for his huge enthusiasm in mixed martial arts and performance-driven training, Ethan is the calm and collected fitness coach. He holds an MSc in Strength and Conditioning from Loughborough University and brings a smart, evidence-based approach to helping members train with purpose. Whether you’re looking to build strength, power, or confidence, Ethan loves helping people push their limits and feel capable both inside and outside the gym.

Amy 

Fitness Coach & Food Challenge Nut 

Amy has passion for strength training for everyone — from complete beginners to experienced athletes. She loves helping clients build muscle, improve mobility and flexibility, and feel stronger and more capable in their training. Known for her patient, honest, and motivating approach, Amy creates a supportive and fun environment where clients feel challenged and encouraged. Outside of coaching, she’s no stranger to a food-eating challenge and has trained bodybuilding-style to an impressive standard herself. 

Claire

Fitness Coach & Creative Ninja

The one who’ll help you move better, build your confidence, and help you prioritise yourself. Claire’s focus is on creating functional movements to build strength and skill for everyday life. Outside of the gym Claire has a passion for art and brings her creative side to all that she does. Her supportive and friendly approach will help melt your gym anxieties away and get you happier and healthier in no time.

Nancy 

Gym Assistant & Tidy Fairy 

Our organisational asset with wonderfully kind energy. Nancy is an aspiring personal trainer and qualified dog groomer with a serious soft spot for scruffy terriers. Nancy brings the same care and attention she gives to the pooches to everything she does at Fire. She enjoys a varied training routine that mixes strength work, conditioning and getting outdoors, and is excited to challenge herself by taking on a HYROX race in the future, even if the ski erg is not her favourite. Outside the gym, she loves a good musical with Hamilton being her top pick and always brings great energy to the team. 

Emma

Gym Assistant & Photography Buff

The one loves strength training, keeping Fire tidy and capturing the moments, Emma has a strong passion for strength training and personal growth. She believes the gym is a powerful space for building both physical and mental confidence. Outside of Fire, she plays hockey and enjoys sports photography, capturing the energy and dedication behind athletes. Emma is a super reliable member of the team who loves meeting new people and supporting members as they work toward their goals.
